Large hot drinks are where cup construction stops being cosmetic. A 24oz latte is a two-hand drink: the customer holds it by the body, not by a sleeve, and holds it for longer than a small coffee because there is more of it. A single wall cup at this volume becomes uncomfortable within a minute and needs a sleeve plus a second sleeve when the drink is extra hot; a double wall cup handles it with an air gap and no accessory. That is the commercial case for 24oz double wall — the cup costs more than a single wall plus sleeve, but it removes a step at the counter and a stock item from the storeroom.
24oz double wall hot cup — 90 × 62 × 176mm
The 24oz sits at the top of the double wall range, above 8oz, 10oz, 12oz, 16oz and 20oz, and it shares the 90mm top diameter with the 12oz and 16oz — so one lid fits three sizes and a shop does not have to stock a fourth lid. Height, not diameter, is what changes: 110mm at 12oz, 136mm at 16oz, 150mm at 20oz and 176mm at 24oz. Board runs 210-350GSM; at this height the higher weights are what keep the cup from flexing when it is lifted full, and the outer wall carries the print.

Coating options are PE lamination, PLA lining and PBS coating, and the PLA route is the one buyers ask for when the cup has to be sold as compostable — both layers need lining, so a double wall compostable cup costs more than a single wall one and the difference is in the second film. Packing is 25pcs per bag, 20 bags per case, in a 90 × 36 × 45cm carton; the load of 295 cartons per 40HQ is the lowest in the range, which is the trade-off for a tall cup that nests less tightly.
